SUMMER

At last the summer arrived at the end May with several days of around 90 degrees and clear blue skies. Nevertheless, we have the odd day of rain which has kept the veg growing and the grass. The Pyrenees are slowly disappearing behind the maze. We have had a young Spanish man staying with us to improve his English. He has now moved on to Sandy's sister in Colchester for a course at the Language School.

Projects for the summer are painting the house and completing the new bedroom. I have been designing a brochure for Hello Chef -
www.hello-chef.fr and one for Hillside Tabling back in the UK. Also I am offering a book design service for self-publishers - details at www.ignitionart.eu

New paintings on the easel are mountain scenes and one of the harbour at San Jean de Luz on the border with Spain.

Visited the Pau Historique Grand Prix which was not as well attended as last year. Photos will appear at
ignitionart soon.

We have had to cancel our creative courses this year but the barn gite is available for self-catering holidays. If you have a creative group that you would like to bring please contact us for group rates.

AUTUMN

A long run of 4 weeks without rain and temperatures up to 25 degrees to 9th October. Visited the start of the vendage at Crouseille and with great ceremony the first grapes are pressed. Then lunch in the chai at chateau Arricau Borde.
