WELCOME TO the Bearn. Situated in the south west corner of France, just north of the Pyrenees and 100 miles from the Atlantic coast, the climate is benign with warm summers and cool winters. Set among the rolling hills with views of the mountains, Maison Lahon is a typical Bearnais farm house and barn with pool and over five hectares of garden and land. The area is very peaceful - we are on the edge of a wooded valley surrounded by fields of maize during the summer.

RIDEAWAYS
Prices are from 475 euros per person and include accommodation in a twin bedded room with own facilities, all meals including one at a local restaurant, two days trekking, half-day excursion and transfers to and from Pau airport and the riding stables. (Prices do not include travel to and from France).
The are two stables, one 10 minutes from Lahon and the other is about half an hour. There are several friendly horses and ponies to choose from and full riding/safety equipment is available, included in the price. You can have as much riding as you want but more than 2 sessions are charged extra. Longer holidays can be accommodated - contact us to discuss your requirements.

THE CITY OF PAU
Pau is a major equestrian centre with events and horse racing throughout the year that can be linked into your holiday. The town of Gelos just south of the City, houses the national stud founded in 1808 by Napoleon 1st. It is concerned not just with conserving the blood lines of race horses, but also of local ponies - the Pottok, the Mirens and the Landes. Horse shows are held here at the beginning of July (Anglo-Arab), end of August (Arab) and beginning of November (French heavy horses). Visits can be arranged.
