The village of Marciac in neighbouring Gascony - about 40 minutes drive from Lahon - holds it's jazz festival which has become one of the biggest and most popular Europe which attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year. The giant marquee seats 6,000 for evening concerts and many more people spend time at the free concerts given in the square and in the bars and restaraunts in the town.
But it's not all about jazz - the village play host to a wide range of activities, free concerts on the square, art exhibitions, films, a market for local products, and stands selling craftwork from all over France and it's dependances. All round the square are restaurants, cafés and bars.

Started in 1978 Jazz in Marciac major international stars including Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, Stéphane Grappelli, Jamie Cullum and Keith Jarrett have appeared.
The Festival also hosts rhythm'n'blues, soul and Latin jazz plus world music so there's something for all tastes. Additional concerts are held at monthly intervals from October until June. They are linked with weekend courses open to amateurs who want to improve their musical skills led by renowned musicians.
