Bikeaway to south west France and experience fast, straight roads, winding cross-country routes and spectacular mountain passes up to 7,000 feet and not many speed cameras! Roads are mainly quiet in contrast to the UK and well surfaced. There are great cross country routes from Lahon with fast straights across the valley floors and twisty bits up to the top. The mountains are about an hour and a half away with roads over the border to Spain. The motorway goes east to Toulouse and the Mediteranean and west to Biarritz and the Atlantic coast. North is the main road across the Landes area to Bordeaux.
Accomodation is in the converted barn as described on the gite holidays page with secure storage for up to 8 bikes. Additionally we offer 3 or 4 course evening meals with free wine & beer so thatt after a hard day on the bike you can put your feet up and relax.
Tour de France 2010
Once again the Tour is back in Pau from Tuesday 20th July and on Thursday the Col du Tourmalet is attempted.
